International Sales Director - Steel Construction

Kilpatrick has been retained to conduct a search for an International Sales Director by our client, one of the world's leading bridge builders.

The Company

Our client is a major engineering organisation specialising in bridging, steel fabrication, plant hire and construction products. The family owned company employs over 1200 people in thirty-eight locations around the globe, working in partnership with an extensive network of local representatives and distributors worldwide. With an annual turnover of around £150 million, and over 160 years' experience in steel bridge building, our client is one of the leading bridge builders in the world.

The Opportunity

The company's strategy is to grow the international business significantly. Key to this is the recruitment of an exceptional International Sales Director whose role will be to develop and deliver the International Sales strategy, ensuring the achievement of global revenue targets. Reporting to the CEO, the International Sales Director will provide leadership and direction to a capable team of twenty. This is an exciting, strategically critical and highly visible role. The Position

The International Sales Director will develop and deliver the International Sales strategy, meeting and exceeding sales targets, while maintaining the company's standards of ethical business practice. Responsibilities will include delivering orders and revenue targets in line with Budget and Strategic plans, establishing full representation across all International Sales positions in particular ensuring excellent candidates in pivotal GSM roles and clarifying and confirming in conjunction with Marketing target companies and clients in particular core territories and key accounts.

The Person

The successful candidate will be currently operating as a Sales Director/ VP Sales and will come from the high value construction products sector i.e. Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Power Gen, Military, Aerospace, Renewables or Rail or other major Capital equipment. He/she will have a proven record of success in International Sales Leadership gained leading and directly driving the performance of a geographically dispersed, multi disciplined sales team. An effective sales strategist and planner, with well developed commercial and financial acumen he/she will above all be international in outlook.
